Some time ago the RW Provincial Grand Master asked the brethren of the Province to support his appeal for Sussex for Sussex. At the time Lodges were set targets based on their membership numbers. Bronze was to be awarded to Lodges who achieved 50% of target, Silver for 100%, Gold for 150% and Platinum for 200%.
Sussex for Sussex is the vehicle through which Sussex Masonic Giving is able to make grants to the many small non masonic charities in the Province.
Some examples of the many hundreds of charities who have benefited from grants are listed on the Sussex Masonic Giving web site.
At the meeting of South Down Lodge on 16th February 2022, VW Bro Maurice Adams the Deputy Provincial Grand Master on behalf of the Provincial Grand Master, presented a Platinum certificate to W Bro Dudley Wensley the Charity Steward, who received it on behalf of all of the members.

The Charity Steward’s job is to encourage and enable the members of the Lodge to make contributions to charity in the most tax efficient manner. He is the channel through which donations are made – it the individual members of the Lodge who by their generous support have enabled the Lodge to achieve Platinum status.
